A new claim about Jack the Ripper’s identity has resurfaced, this time hinging on disputed DNA from a shawl allegedly found at an 1888 crime scene. Russell Edwards says it proves Polish immigrant Aaron Kosminski was the killer, but forensic experts dismiss the evidence as weak, contaminated and statistically meaningless. More than a century on, the Ripper remains unsolved, fuelled by speculation rather than certainty.
