Before the first Test between Australia and West Indies, Ian Healy criticized Shamar Joseph's performance. Joseph responded by taking four wickets, including Konstas, on the opening day. Despite Joseph's efforts and Seales' contribution, West Indies struggled, ending the day at 57/4. Joseph previously troubled Australia in January, taking 7/68 in a historic West Indies victory.
